How to make the best use of this site

by Guido on 2006-01-24 10:58:18

Connectedy is intended as a complete replacement for your browser bookmarks. I set Connectedy.com to be my home page. Then I just keep one browser instance open and pop up the various other sites that I like to go to. It is especially helpful as a reminder to revisit all my favorite sites that get updated on a regular basis.

When I am researching something, I generally use Google. After I discover several resources, I can save them on my Connectedy account, put them all into a separate category, and come back to them later.

Although Connectedy has Google Site Search boxes all over the place to make it easy to start discovering new sites, the Connectedy internal search feature is really quite powerful. It matches any string you enter with any link URL, title, or category in your account.

Some people have discovered other uses for Connectedy. Webmasters have begun using it as a promotional tool to link to the sites that they maintain, e.g. Lionheart's Links. They have also used it to implement a "Links" page for their site, e.g. see Mentalcode Icelandic.

With the onset of Connectedy Articles, users will probably discover even more new uses of the site. It is ideal for collaborative writing projects where a lot of feedback is desire, or for initiating public dialogue about important issues, or even for freelance writers whose material is not yet thematic enough for a blog.
